Where do you serious riders store cell/wallet/keys while riding?

In all seriousness...
On a bike without a rack, if I'm only having one bag, make it a small handlebar bag. Easy to get your stuff in and out of, just open it up and toss things in. Best, IMNSHO, is a small handlebar bag for keys, wallet, phone, snacks, etc, and an underseat bag for tools, tube, patch kit, and other stuff that stays on the bike and doesn't get used often. I've found that having to partly unstrap the bag from the saddle to get my non-bike stuff into and out of the bag gets really annoying. Contrariwise, if you get a flat or other mechanical, you can unstrap the whole bag and set it on the ground next to you while you do what you gotta do, then remount it when you're done.

I will answer simply and truthfully:
-phone in smallest possible sandwich bag to keep dry in my left jersey pocket (weaker arm)
-pump and 3rd bottle middle pocket, 4th bottle right pocket with gels if needed
-gels and snack right pocket
-saddle bag: tube(s), a lever, a valve extender and plastic u-tool, one tube patch, one 5mm allen key

I ride from home so my keys stay in the garage. I place my cell phone, expired drivers license and $20 in a ziplock bag in my center jersey pocket.
When i do drive to a remote start, I have a jersey with a zippered pocket where I place my car key which I remove from my keyring.

Ditto on the zip lock bags, they're dirt cheap, keep things together and protect from getting wet. The wallet, keys and contact lens case go together in one zip lock deep in the center jersey pocket that I'm barely flexible enough to reach while riding anyway. Cell phone and sunglass cleaning cloth in the right pocket. Gels, bars, Liquid IV pouches in the left. all in zip locks. I use a Banjo Bros Medium seat wedge for 2 tubes, tire irons, 2-C02 cartridges, small multitool. I wrap the tubes and C02 cartridges very tight in saran-wrap to compress their size and keep the tubes safe from accidental damage while stuffed in the bag.

I use a "Quad Lock" cell phone mount on both my road and off-road bikes. With that I can use my iPhone for sync with my heart rate belt and watch (I use a Suunto Ambit 3 HR watch). The Suunto app allows you to track and customize just about everything from speead, cadence, elevation, heart rate, etc. And it's all interchangeable with a simple quick release. I have a small waist pack to carry my pump, power bars, ID, keys, etc. It works for me.

Keep all my stuff in my jersey pockets. If the weather looks inclement, all go into zip lock bags then into my pockets. Don’t want to carry extra weight with bags, etc, since my hill climbing needs all the help it can get.

I'm pretty sure by many definitions, I'm NOT a serious rider. Though: I'm plenty serious about it, and I've gone 57,000+ miles on my bikes (s).
And I have a rack "trunk" (my custom buile IF frame has lugs for a rack).
And you're right: it weighs a lot. But I don't care.
And in I've got: my wallet. Glasses. Cell phone. Small pump. Tubes. C02. A multi tool. Masks in case I need one.

My bike has a trunk bag that sits atop the rear rack. Delicate/valuable items like items like phones and wallets are safe even if the bike takes a fairly violent spill. They will then be available and in working order if I need them. Smaller bags in other locations may not fair as well.

Wallet and keys go in the Topeak Fuel Tank top tube bag. Cell goes in cargo bib side pocket for quick pics. I think this disqualifies me as a 'serious rider' now that I think of it.
