Da Vinci Joint Venture 700 Tandem with ICS
Hello All,
I purchased this beautiful Black to Purple Fade Da Vinci Joint Venture Tandem in 2010 and is in very good condition. I am the original owner and it was purchased locally (here in Northern California in 2010 (at an authorized Da Vinci dealer). The bike is in very good condition except for a few nick's in the paint from As you would expect from a 12 year old bike. Here are the details. It is a medium sized frame.
I am located in the East Bay for the San Francisco Bay Area (Dublin) and would prefer to sell it locally as shipping will be very expensive. I will ship but you'll have to pay shipping costs. A less expensive option however, is I would be willing to make a road trip anywhere in the west because I love road trips. We can work out the details as I'd want a little help with the expenses as opposed to shipping.
The Da Vinci (made in Colorado) Joint Venture 700 Tandem is a unique road tandem which contains the Da Vinci Independent Coasting System (ICS) which allows for a more comfortable and less stressful ride. NOTE: I had the ICS Locked out so we could ride in synch. I can get this feature unlocked if you wish.
$2,800 for bike. Shipping will be extra as explained above but we can work out getting it delivered (by me) if you're in the Western US. I'm in the SF Bay Area

Hello All,
I just obtained this beautiful Black to Royal Blue Fade Da Vinci Joint Venture Tandem is great condition. It was purchased locally (here in Northern California in 2010 (at an authorized Da Vinci dealer) and I purchased it from the original owner. She basically rode the bike approximately 200 miles with her ex, who wasn't a cyclist...Code for not a pleasant experience for either party. . Did it cause the divorce? Well it certainly didn't help! But my wife calls it a relationship accelerator. So, it stayed in her garage. The bike is in pristine condition except for a couple nick's in the paint from basically moving it from here to there in her garage. Here are the details. It is a medium sized frame. Actually, it's the same size as my Da Vinci (a different bike) and I'm 5'9".

How do you get 4 x 9 or 4 x 10 speeds? I see only two front chainrings.
And the overall gear ratios don't seem high to support even 25 mph. With the largest chainring going only up to 30, a 30 - 11 is still small gear for road, right? What am I missing?
Thanks. I've owned 4 tandems, Gitane and ?? steel bar brake 3 speed in the 70's, 20 speed Bob Jackson and Trek 1000 trail tandem.
