Ok this is not much of a tease, but consider it a tease as it is not a) in my hands yet and b) built

I would say if you ever have thought about a custom go for it.

Thats really beautiful. What tubing did you go with?
I once went to see a Holland bike listed on the local CL. Turned out to have a Joe Bell paint job, which was fantastic! Unfortunately the bike had some serious damage and I had to pass, but that paint really stood out. I can see yours is even more spectacular.

bike will handle 32, 28 with fenders tires, anything more would impact the ride (note as I understand it if you go Fillet brazed vs lugged you can get to 35mm tires easily
tubing: The JK Special bikes are built with a proprietary mix of tubes (chainstays, seat stays, and fork blades) made to my specifications by Reynolds of England as well as Reynolds 953 and 853 Pro
build Ultegra R8000 11 speed mechanical, Velo-Orange Gran Cru long reach brakes, Nitto stem, seatpost, and Noodle bar, Berthoud saddle, King Cage stainless, white tape and cables,
wheelset 1: White T11 hubs 32 h, H+son Archetype rims with Rene Herse 32mm stampede pass (tubes) Wheelset 2: Hope RS4 hubs, Amrbosio Nemesis 32 h rims, FMB 29 mm Cobblestone tubular and a set of Rene Herse fenders
geometry and clearance, didn't really analyze that much...again going with builder recoomendations, but he did things like longer head tube and shorter stem to help with stability at speed, but here is design

I am using a Tubus rack, send it to dave and he made sure it was fit well
got some super bright ortlieb bags
at work we have bike lockers and this on very likely will get put in my cube (until facilities yells at me)

Okay, that's very, very cool. A friend bought a custom from Dave Kirk. He, too, said that dealing with him and Joe Bell was great. I'm looking forward to seeing pics of the finished bike, but especially looking forward to pics of the smile on your face holding and riding it.
