Talking Volunteer Route Leader Positions - Bike the UK for MS

Any UK folks (or international) looking to do some cycling related charity volunteering this summer? Bike the UK for MS have route leader positions open on their Land's End to John O'Groats and North Coast 500 events if so! Here are the details:

ABOUT THIS VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITY

As a Route Leader your role will be pivotal in ensuring our cycle trip runs smoothly! Working in a team of around 5, you'll have the guidance of our Head Route Leader to teach you the ropes. We foster a welcoming and fun working environment while working hard to run our tours as efficiently and safely as possible.
What better way to see the UK as you carry out duties such as:
  • Driving the Rest stop Van and/or Lead Van
  • Setting up Rest stops and fulfilling rest stop duties (filling water coolers, putting out chairs etc)
  • Chatting to the riders and keeping morale high
  • Attending team meetings
  • Setting up signage at challenging parts of the route
  • Ensuring riders are prepared and up to date with information
  • Posting on our socials to drum up support
  • Photo and videos! Capturing content for us to use through the year
  • Updating the van whiteboards to include weather, facilities and extra info for the next day of the ride
  • Spreading our message of MS awareness and goodwill
  • Opportunities to ride on rotation with other route leaders
WHAT ARE BIKE THE UK FOR MS LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for enthusiastic, adventure loving and reliable volunteers!
A positive mental attitude is a must and a demonstrated love for cycling and/or the great outdoors is preferable.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
Although these are voluntary opportunities we can offer the following incentives:
  • First Aid Qualification (Refresher if already trained)
  • Personalised Kit
  • Travel expenses to and from any training and trip start/end points.
  • Riding Days! (Bring your bike)
  • Valuable CV Experience
  • A few other surprises!
