Made a couple small changes on my commuter. I swapped out those huge cruiser tires for my semi-slick tires and also went from a 48 tooth to a 44 tooth BMX crank which happens to be blue.............

I'm considering adding fender extensions to mine as well. I'm undecided as to material though.... was thinking to make them out of leather (which would be easy to do) and water-proofing the heck out of 'em.

Otherwise, i'd have to source another material which would be a bit more of a challenge....

Maybe something like car/truck inner-tube material would work....?

Inner-tube will work, but I think that plastic bottle works best of all. It is solid enough, so it does not wobble by the wind, and if you jump off high curb, it is elastic enough not to be broken. It costs nothing and easy to make, so you do not worry if it is damaged.
The only one disadvantage is the look, but for me functionality is way more important.

Genesis GS29

It works for me. I use an Ibera rack and trunk bag, tool kit, homemade lock holster, some free market fenders, etc

when making a front fender extender, any recommendation for a way to attach to the fender? I would like to add and remove if possible!

It depends on many things: what extender is made of, what fender is made of, what the length of the extender is. I was lucky in my case i just used the same bolt that holds fender. At my another bike, i had to drill two holes to attach it by two bolts. You should think of something that fixes it well and is reliable. For rubbery extenders i would recommend big washers.

And yes, i saw attachment by adhesive tape. Can work, but you should understand how long and how well.

This season I've been commuting on my 1966 Sports, 4.5 miles each way in Manhattan, while wearing business formal (until after Memorial Day). I have a set of Linus canvas rollup bags on a black Pletscher clone, shown here in Central Park coming home from a grocery run.

Looks like bicycle should look!
Don't you have problems with such cranks to shaft connection?

Thanks, @WinNT.

Yes. I serviced the bottom bracket this winter. Everything was in fine condition following it's first 50 years, and I expect it to outlive me! The chain is new as well. These old Raleighs were built to run for decades with minimal maintenance.

My recent pick up a 100 dollar special from craigslist, a 1990 Trek 970 Singletrack.

Not wearing lights for the picture.

Great looking bike, excellent background and colors for photo. Looks like you may have significant toe overlap with this frame/size setup. At last I would for commuting purposes.

Looks like a good deal, especially if it came with all those accessories (rack, fenders, pump, nice pedals)

It's a stunning bike and a more interesting background than your standard white garage door.

I do think you want to flip around to show the drive side.

For this photo I'm seeing tension about where is horizontal. I'm guessing the background metal shutter has the true horizontal stripes, you have that aligned pretty well based on the top of the image. Which means this is a top tube which slopes downwards -- which you can see here, but also the floor looks like it is sloping downwards to the other direction, so the top tube is not as angled downwards as it could be, so I think flipping it around would also create a bigger angle between the top tube and the background; near-parallel is visually confusing.

Also, since the bike is the subject, I would center it better in the photo.
