130mm to 135mm adapter for rear hub
- Is there conversion kit that will allow me to fit a130mm rear hub (its a 9mm QR hub with sealed bearings) in 135mm dropouts. NOTE That this is a 6 spoke carbon wheel, so I cant get a NDS 5mm extender, as redishing the wheel is not an option, and the frame is aluminum, so i cant just compress the frame. It needs to be an even 2mm on either side. Also, this is a rim brake wheel, so there is no need to worry about disc brake mount.

I would think this would throw the chain line off. Have you looked into getting an appropriate 135mm hub and have it re-spoked

You can get 2mm thick washers for each side of the axle. Of course that'll mean small adjustments to the indexing. The 'missing' 1mm won't make a noticeable difference.

these are integrated 6 spoke carbon wheels (think old school mag wheels). As in the entire wheel is 1 piece of carbon. Respoking the wheel is not an option. Thats why i said redishing it is also not an option.

I was thinking this at first, but that wont leave me much of the hub to actually sit in the drop outs. Will that be ok? And yes, adjusting the indexing wont be an issue.

I assume the axle itself is too short? You could take it out and replace it, without changing the hub, then just use washers.

Maybe read the entire post next time. It's a 6 spoke carbon wheel, can't be 're-spoked'.

Nothing worked for me. I used a 130mm hub in my 135mm frame for years with no problem. Then again it's a cheap alumin(i)um frame with ordinary 36 steel spokes wheels - nothing fancy.

Everyone thanks for the replies. The manufacturer is actually going to put on a 13mm hub. BTW they are ICAN 6 spoke carbon wheels. And CXWRENCH, I will post in Bike mechanic. I thought general discusssion was a catch all in case someone didnt know where to post. Is there an issue posting questions like this here?

That's what I did back in the day to update my racing wheels from 126 to 130, experimenting with the washers to get the right chain line. Those all had freewheels, though, and I think I had to adjust the dish as well, which you wouldn't be able to do with the wheels mentioned here. Looks like the OP got it sorted out anyway.
