Shimano Nexus 3 vs 8 gearing?

Does anyone know the gearing differences between Shimano Nexus 3-speed and 8-speed hubs? I thought there was a chart on Sheldon Brown but couldn't find it nor can I find it elsewhere.

Thanks,
