I was able to find the replacement springs instead of the elastomers. I found them at https://nulifecycles.com/proflex-kits/ They were a little pricey, but the build turned out pretty well.

yeah, this guy was the type that always jumps in with both feet, whether there's a river at the bottom of the cliff or nice sharp rocks. Pro-flex was so hyped up and so new that he had to have it. We were all awe-struck at first(having ht's only at that point), but the subsequent failings of the bike sobered us up.

Nice bike! Proflex was and still is remarkably light for a full suspension, even when compared to a hardtail. I still have my 1996 Proflex 856 which went through 10+ years of pretty harsh trail riding and jumping off rocks. I switched to road riding and just now starting mountain biking again after 15 years of road riding. Just upgraded it from 3 x 8 original drive train to 2 x 12 (that's what age does to you :-)) Shimano XT/SLX drivetrain.

bs FS. I never found the rudimentary suspension an issue, the bike just rode great.

Old shovel on YouTube restored one; perhaps he has an idea where to source the bearings. I rode a couple and thought they were stellar (especially for the period).

Thanks for sharing. I also really enjoyed mine and didn't have any issues with it. I thought it handled great and has been solid and tough; It's not a downhill bike, but I used to jump off drops of 3+ feet. Compared to current air and coil spring telescoping shocks, it is not as plush or has the longer travel, but it's serving my needs. I'll ride it until it brakes and I am north of 60 😊.
