Looking at the other side of the Hollywood sign, from Griffith Observatory, which can be seen on top of the hill on left side of your pic (white building).

Made it through the TSA and waiting at the gate. The security guy gave me a thorough pat-down including tracing his hands completely around my waistband. Neither mrs datlas nor daughter got that. Daughter says it’s because I look “ethnic.” Pot calling kettle black imo.

Ahead of the road trip, I got the oil changed yesterday. This morning, I noticed a fresh, pancake-sized oil spot on the garage floor when I backed out.
I looked and didn't see any obvious source, but with the oil leak last year, one likely caused by over-tightening of the filter housing, it was grimy enough that it'd have to be really obvious. Anyway, took it back in to the shop and they say that it was a pinched oil filter housing gasket and that it should be all good, now.
Yeah, I'm not going to comfortable embarking on a 3k mile road trip with just that assurance, so Imma get under there and clean up the gunk, so that any new leaks will be a little more obvious, and then I'm going to keep some paper under the engine when it's in the garage, to make any drips obvious. *le sigh*

Ooof. I guess that's why I still change my own oil, even though it's cheaper to take it to the quickie lube.

I should make "Road Boss" videos where I show how I avoid getting crushed by tanker trucks on the Middlebrook Pike expressway.

Exactly like that! And I ride a road bike like Tadej Pogacar.
Seriously, I am amazed at what he does. The balance alone is more than I can dream of, not to mention those bursts of power. And he's 6'4" and not light. Years as a professional trials rider helped.
I would enjoy some of the trails he shows but I would be walking a lot of it.
