Latest find--completely original PX-10!!
Hello friends, I'm very excited to share my latest acquisition and as always I'm eager to hear from all of the Peugeot folks out there. Based on the decals I put this at a 75-78 PX-10, as you can see in the photo's the pedals are stamped with "77" so I'm guessing a 77 or 78. There is nothing stamped on the rear derailleur and there is no serial number on the bottom bracket--not even holes where a plate would have been--so the pedal is all I have to go on. As far as I can tell everything on the bike is original and it's all there--even the frame pump looks right. The paint and chrome are perfect and the decals are in fantastic shape. I am including the 1978 brochure list and as far as I can tell everything is as it should be. Please have a look and let me know your thoughts, I am very excited to find a bike in such great condition and I can't wait to get it back on the road.

I have two white PX-10's and love them but I'm really coming around to these these late 70's colors. Like everyone else I am on the hunt for an early blue model but the black frame from this era is definitely on my bucket list.

The guy I bought it from found it at an estate sale, he is a bike guy but doesn't know French bikes and had no idea what this was and he didn't ask any questions when he bought it. The chain is the correct Sedis brand and I'm pretty sure is original to the bike--according to my wear indicator it isn't stretched at all. The tubulars are not original but they still hold a little air and are clearly decades old. My guess is that someone bought this during the boom, rode it on and off for a few years and then stored it indoors. The bottom bracket is in desperate need for servicing and barely moves, I'm guessing it has been sitting for 30+ years and the grease has really hardened up. I can't find a single chip in the paint and the decals only have a few nicks where the bottle brackets were. The paint doesn't look faded at all and is going to look incredible after cleaning and waxing. I have a few projects I need to get finished before I start on this but I can't wait to get it back on the road. I'm not a tubular guy so I will re-lace the hubs onto clincher rims and install modern pedals but I will keep the pedals and rims and make sure they always stay with the bike.

The posted spec sheet specifies a Stronglight 105 crank, am I remembering right? But the one that's on there looks like a Model 90 to me
Not that that makes a damn bit of difference. A beauty, as I said. Why do I never find bikes like that?
