How much climbing do you do each year?

For those of you who log thousands of miles each year...
If you have one of those apps that tells you how many feet you climbed each year... about how many feet do you climb each year? If possible, also let us know how many miles you did it in, and if you're ok with it, your age too.
I think that many (some? A few?) of us will be interested in your answers.
(I previously posted this question in the mechanics forum... please accept my apologies).

Oh and in answer to the question. Both too much and too few!

My spreadsheet reveals: 2,172.64 miles and 93,100 gain.

Last year I did 453,000 ft in 8300 miles. But plenty of people around here do waaay more.

A few years ago, on an annual climbing ride on December 23rd, we were in a parking lot afterwards chatting. One of the guys was looking at his computer, and noted that he had hit 10,000 miles for the year -- and 1 million feet of climbing.

3,000 miles in 6 months, 190,000 feet elevation. been seeking out flatter routes, more typically a long ride around here is close to 100’ per mile. i cheat and use a bit of electricity

43'/mile this year.
40yo.

Thats if you believe the garmin and/or strava.
I had a gravel race on Saturday that is the same route each year and the climb is all over the place. It's listed as anywhere from 3000' to 3600' for the same 55mi route from year to year. Thats a pretty sizable per mile difference.

We live along the coast and in 60 miles you might get 1500 ft. However, we get lots of wind and our average is about 15 mph but it varies daily and 20mph is quite common. I would like to convert a 20 mph head wind into elevation change. The nice thing about hills is that you know where the top is, not so with the wind.

I got my first adult road bike at some shop east of Central Park and then occasionally rode around the loop when they first were closing it to cars. But mainly rode from Yonkers to the upper reaches of Westchester County.

There’s a guy in my city going for a million feet of climbing in a year.

As of today he’s at;

8,200 miles
793,000 feet

So…I feel no need to track either mileage or elevation.

Inadequate as always.

Strava says 9,233 km and 62,132 m so far this year. I started biking May 2019 and my total distance is 18,504 km so I've definitely increased my riding.

Typically between 4,000 and 4,500 miles and 200,000 ft of climbing. I live on the top of a hill so everywhere I go involves climbing to get home. This year I've been specifically trying to do more climbing and so far it's at 3,210 miles and 220,250 ft of climbing, which is probably the most I've done ever in a year. I'll be 65 next month.

2020, 6110 miles, 246,950 feet. 59 y.o. that year.

I think you will find that geography is going to be the biggest determinant of the ratio if you're only talking to road cyclists.

So what do YOU call it when you cycle uphill? One word labels only.

Sorry but that's a snark misfire. We all knew what op meant. And ascend and climb are synonymous, so if you want to use ascend, tell us why one is better than the other.

I ascend 52 feet per mile on average. Yearly miles precovid ranged widely from 9k to around 16k. 500,000 feet or so ascending

Since I start and stop each ride at my home, wouldn't the sum total be zero? I ride up a hill, then I ride back down.
