Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

CC seems to regularly be on sale for Prime Members at Whole Foods and, at my store, at least, it's usually pretty fresh (2-3 weeks out of roast), so I'm going through them again with the new stuff.
Never tried it. I'll check on it. I like darker the better.

My wife likes more traditional, darker roasts, too, but I let her try mine this morning - she liked it, despite previously saying that she wasn't in to coffee with fruit notes. It's lighter, but not really light - still medium.

The lighter roasts can be tough to extract, though. You have to grind finer and brew at a higher temp, typically. On the old set-up, I couldn't do that effectively and it was too sour for my taste.

If they are walking among us, we will not likely know it because there is an equal opportunity that they exist in a form that we do not recognize or comprehend. A form such as VV which may be alien in nature, but which we just do not recognize as such is an example.

If they do get here, we are likely doomed since they will have achieved things that we only dream of.

Well exactly. Until they are real and relevant, it’s just a bunch of hot air.

One thing in the article that caught my eye was "Market Saturation" as one reason. Makes sense, what with Peloton tanking, that everyone who wanted a trainer already has one. Now, if they had launched hardware back at the start of 2020....

Not me! I keep on using Zwift when it's not convenient to ride IRL.

Well and this is the problem with jumping from software to hardware: the cost and lead-time are MUCH higher, and without experience in the field it's very easy to see an opening and get deep in debt trying to exploit it only to see it evaporate or be revealed as a mirage. This is what I expect will happen with Apple and the fabled Apple Car.

Software is a relatively low investment and relatively easy to scale. Hardware is much harder on both fronts, and that was before the pandemic and war. It's also slower. Even if the smart bike demand were sustained, by the time this thing was out it would be competing with an ever-larger installed base of Peloton, which would also be easier to convince non-cycling spouses for, and looks classy in a house instead of like a kid's toy. This was dumb all the way through.
