Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

+1 Yellow Spot was the first thing that came to mind, but agree that it'd be hard to go wrong.

Japanese would also be nice, but it's often harder to find.

Thanks for the booze recs. Xmas gift for future SIL, so those will give some things to look for. Roaming the liquor stores is in my top 5 activities.

he’s a bourbon guy, not Scotch or Irish.

Most main roads go E-W because that's the direction the ridges are.

Early 15 December 2021 Map of the Day, one real cyclists can appreciate.

I’ve only had good Japanese whiskey once and it was at a very awkward dinner in some Japanese city with a bunch of academics and drug company henchmen, served on the floor by women shuffling around on their knees, so I didn’t really have the state of mind to enjoy. The food was downright scary.

Yellow Spot is great, but there’s better. Why not take the family to see wherever the O’Donnells came from?

CaryTown cycles had nothing that fit me. Sigh.

They did have a 58 emonda ALR 5 in smoke grey………..

Wife almost said yes.

Rim brakes I was okay with, however, it came with Sram 1x11 Apex double tap. This I was not okay with.

If she had said yes I would have thrown the sram on the Ritchey, and put the ultegra on the emonda.

We'd have to find out where that is, first.

I'm getting antsy to travel, but the wife wants to wait until the girl is a year or two older. While I'd like to visit Ireland, I'm actually more interested to visit Scandinavia, which the wife and boy (who's been taking Swedish lessons for a few years) would be thrilled with, too.

Blanton’s, McKenna 10, Weller’s Special Reserve. But there are a bunch of excellent bourbons in the $60 - 70 range.

Kronos, which is our timekeeping app, has been hacked and is being held ransom. They say "weeks", but my employer has a backup plan. I'll be curious to see what that may be.

listen, you don't have to make things up. It's OK if you like the Flintstones. We (with some exceptions) don't judge.
