Sorry, don't know the model, but that's a cool looking DH rig with the double crown.

Good you didn't take photos of the driveside or give us serial number, It would have helped us a lot more.

I am guessing it is a DH bike probably early 2000s

That's not a Kona. Somebody bought some Kona stickers and put them all over a department store full suspension frame. That shock is a $90 DNM air shock from Ebay and the fork is also an Ebay special with with some Rockshox stickers. The swingarm on it looks like steel with a kickstand plate welded on.

Is it possible that the bike is for sale and the OP can only post the photos that he gets?

Did you also notice there isn't cranks or front derailleur and so most likely no rear derailleur to really help in that regard. But hey, thanks for playing.

Your right a friend of a friend is trying to trade it to me towards a bike I have but I've only owned a couple konas so not super familiar with them.. But it may not be a kona.. Not sure where he got the bike but yes he said he tried to change to a 1x but couldn't figure it out

That is quite possible but then you ask for more photos. It is a good way to garner interest in the bike and also see if the seller is legit and wants to play ball.
