Novara Randonee With Extras? What do you think?

This is nearby. I was looking for a nice road bike and am considering my options. I was going to get something nice but I just lost my job. It's between this and a schwinn let our.

Good price for a Novara touring bike, but I suspect the original looked more like this:

https://www.rei.com/product/776887/n...e-touring-bike

...than what is being sold -- upright conversion with butterfly bars, XTR brake levers but calipers and other components don't look XTR level.

If you wanted to switch it back, ask if the original components are still available, sometimes they get thrown in for free if the owner doesn't have any use for them.

He said he would do $150 or switch back for $180

Plus for another $10 he'd out on a rear luggage rack

If the parts are not worn out and it fits you, I would take this over a low end hybrid.

Butterfly bars will be a more upright that drop bars, both have multiple hand positions.

Everything else being equal, a touring bike is much more versatile than any hybrid. You can leave all the accessories off and have something approaching a gravel grinder, or hang racks & bags and go touring, commuting or whatever.

This is a touring bike. Touring bikes are made from sturdy parts to go thousands of miles.

The flat bar conversion is kind of weird but also used good parts - those dual control flappy lever pods were not a hit in the market but were top level quality.

It's a lot better and at a guess it's half the age of the Le Tour.

But does it fit?
