Panasonic DX4000
I'm new to the forum. Am looking to sell a vintage 12 speed, 54.5cm, Panasonic DX4000 road bike. Gorgeous bike with all original equipment: Shimano 105 group - shifters, brakes, hubs, and pedals; Biopace chain rings; Araya rims; Panaracer Apex tires - 700x23c 115 psi; Cat Eye rear deflector. Custom painted by Panasonic - ocean blue and white. Rear fork has two minor paint chips, otherwise bike is in perfect condition. What is the value of this bike and what sites would you recommend selling it on? I originally posted a few pictures, but I got a message saying I needed a few posts before submitting them?

Not a custom color. That is a stock paint scheme for 1987.

it would seem to me small frames and big frames have their niche, but you got to find the buyer in a smaller group of people , vintage riders are definitely size sensitive, its a nice bike but there was another Panasonic for sale for ages, 3-400 to the right buyer would be my estimate.

I'd start out around $475 for that. But, i would not go below $300. If it was completely refurbished, then I'd go for $675.

Thems some pretty lofty numbers for Tange Champion 2 Japanese steel. Although very nice, pretty much an entry-level sport racer in a league with Centurion LeMans, Raleigh Grand Prix and Schwinn Prelude. As a local sale, I’d think more like $275 +/- $25.

@Charmawalk55 You might update your profile and include where you are. Location matters for local sale prices. Example if you live in say rural Utah or the upper peninsula in Michigan you won't see the returns you'd see if you lived in NYC or Los Angeles. What does you local CL listing that is comparable??

Some lofty prices quoted for a bike comparable to a Centurion Ironman Master (albeit in really nice shape). I was going to say $250-$300, but plonz has that covered.

+1 Less well known, but similar to an Ironman. Lofty asking price, very likely will not sell. I've seen some in the last few weeks in the $250 range.
