Pawl stuck in DT Swiss hub

Long story but what matters is that I put the pawl in without the spring and now it is stuck. Rather annoyed with myself. Any suggestions on getting it out?

Turn the wheel over and give it a few whacks? Place something vibrating on the hub, and it will usually drop out.

Tried that a little bit and it didn’t seem to budge. Will keep experimenting though, thanks!
