That definitely would make sense, but the road had a very gentle curve at most. Hopefully your friend found his wallet.

Fortunately I was in the passenger seat looking out the window at the time, and saw exactly where it landed. Took longer to walk back to the spot than find where it came to rest.

Yesterday I saw the biggest dead raccoon you could possibly imagine! It was the size of a full-grown beagle, must have been 30-40lbs. Looked fresh too, I wonder how much raccoon steak I could have gotten off of it...

Rats cross my path on the Hudson River Greenway, but I guess those don't count as found. They sure are startling, though. We have really big rats here.

I had a red fox dart across the MUP last week and startle me. The unusual part was that I has in the middle of town. It ran under a fence and into a lumberyard.

Found this trailer in the trash pick up at the curb.. The 4th one I have found.

Now use it for groceries. Gave two away, sold one.

That's crazy, why would someone just throw that away? Can't they think of any family that might want it? Or Salvation Army or Goodwill or something? Shamefully wasteful. I guess it's not that surprising, everybody in C&V knows people throw away perfectly good whole bikes all the time. I'm just glad you kept them in circulation!

On my rides, usually nothing of interest. I have found women's clothing, mostly thongs, pink tights, a pair of women's track pants (both of which I kept), women's shirts (youth sized), and a lot of garbage. Most of the clothing was found in two parks, so it doesn't take a lot of imagination to know what goes on there after dark...

Parks I kind of understand, but I don't get why I occasionally find women's underwear in the gutter of streets. Why chicks be tossin their panties out of moving cars? Why can't I ever be in those cars?

Two things. First, last year on single-track in my area I saw a gray fox. Interesting animal. Only canine that climbs trees. Second, today I found a suitcase off the MUP in the weeds. Went back later with my car and picked it up.

I find hand tools and electrical tape all the time. It's gotten to the point I don't pick them up anymore.
My last big find was a huge sheet of bubble wrap. It was so big I couldn't fit it all in by backpack, so I cut off a huge chunk and took it home. We were able to insulate three windows with it.
I've found bags, reflective vests, car windshield sun shades, etc.
My biggest find was the part of the tow truck that slides in behind your wheel to lock it in place. Probably 50lbs... Jet black... In the middle of the street at 4am. That could have ruined someone's day.
My coolest find were two new friends. A young Siberian Husky had gotten loose from his yard and was almost hit by the car in front of me. I pulled over and he walked right up to me, wagging his tail. As I was trying to figure out what to do next, his owner, a good looking Mexican woman, came running down the street looking for him.

There is a cool facebook group called Road Swag that my friend runs. They post pics of their most recent finds. Y'all might like it.

Westerville, a northeast suburb of Columbus, OH. We're outside the outer belt so further north or east are farmland, state parks, and reservoirs. There are also creeks and powerline right-of-ways that form greenbelts throughout the area.

A surprising amount of wildlife has adapted to suburban life. I've seen deer within a few blocks of the main drag, and raccoons and skunks are plentiful in my neighborhood just off the freeway.

In the local suburbs, dragging something to the trash is recycling. Gleaners in old beat up cars and pickups come around the night before trash day, and grab anything that looks salvageable. I've left grills, lawn mowers, and bookcases, and none of them have made it to the dump.

I found an Amazon delivery truck van door magnet. It's about 24" by 24" with a big, Amazon logo printed on it. I actually saw it peel off the side of the delivery van and fly into the bike lane. If the driver hadn't been going way too fast, I might have been able to flag him down.

Good: After all these years, I *finally* saw a bobcat.
Bad: He was in the bike lane in pretty poor shape.
