Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

After some hand-wringing and deal searching, I've got some snazzy new handlebars on the way - some Easton aero jobbers, because... well, aero. I also went smaller, 42cm instead of my usual 44cm, because... well, aero.

I'm going to be so fast.

Once an actual rider is on the bike, that's about 90% of the benefit of an aero road bike there.

I mean, it still makes basically no difference.

I have some of ye olde non-aero Eastons. I couldn't say no when they marked them down to $30, since they were blowing out all the antiquated bars with round section tops.

Well, even wimpier MCPS decided to let schools 2.5 hours early much earlier than wimpy OPM . Had to leave Georgetown at 11:30 to shtump my @ss to pickup two kids from separate schools.

I bet we’re looking at a 2 hour delay tomorrow morning. The amount of snow/ice on the roads to cause this havoc if anyone wonders: at most an inch of snow!

You know how, after a hurricane hits, utility crews drive in from all over the country to help restore power?

You guys should call in DougRNS with his snow shovel to restore normalcy.

What do you think? Are we going to have any close calls this winter where you're going to be watching the weather forecast at the edge of your seat, wondering if you're going to need to re-assemble your shovel?

We got snow on November 12 (earliest we've ever gotten an inch) and it's only threatened once since.

No snow shovels needed here.

That shovel is for looking at, much like a super model. Working shovels look like this.

We’re supposed to get heavy rain, then ice, and finally snow starting tomorrow (the rain, that is) and continuing through Saturday.

So its 8am, and I’m back in the ER again. Maybe 15 people or so here already, but it’s way quieter than yesterday. So far. I hope to finish up my visit from yesterday, a continuation so to speak.Hopefully get some results.
