Those are the ones. I'd like to see them (Eastern) concentrate more on the 26" tires, maybe do some gumwalls or something. But yeah, it really is one heck of a value compared to other rubber out there. AND, you can get them in solid black if you don't like the "billboard"/NASCAR/Hotrod effect.

Ace! I had one of those Serfas Kevlar seats back in 1993 or so... it was really "grippy", didn't allow me to slide around much. Plus it was like sitting on a 2x4. But they look sweet. I love Fats and have a '91 Wicked I'm in the process of manufacturing a Tange Switchblade lookalike fork for...

Here is the latest addition to my hoard, a '95 Lava Dome that was all original. I put a few upgrades on it. including M950 cranks.

94' Bridgestone MB-3 - Kiwi Green
As bought - previous owner converted to a single speed
top tube scratched up on this side, fork on the other - doesn't hurt my feelings

Don't stare too long at that head badge (presuming yours is the same as mine)......

LOL, I know, that's one of the charms of this gen of Konas, the psychadelic swirl head badge.

But those components don't match any ATB models from '83-'85. So although they may be cool components, they're not original.

The 970 was the top of Trek's 1993 line (not including the beer cans).
I worked at a Trek dealer in that era. Trek would do warranty repair on frames BITD and the customer would have the option of any current year paint and decal.

Here's my first proper vintage mtb build. Went with 1X 40-11/46 (Sram NX & GRX crank). Special thanks to jdawginsc for going above and beyond to get it to me!

Yep, I have one such beast, an '82 710 dressed up as an '85.

I think a Big One Inch (BOI) would be more appropriate on a Team, but a Switchblade would look great too. Just be sure the axle to crown (A-C) measurement is correct for the the frame geometry.

1990 Trek 970 Black with White Splatter

I just bought this one today. 20” lugged frame and looks to be original except for consumables.

Bikes: Wow, where to start? A collection of 1980's and early 90's road, touring, and MTBs from the likes of Trek, Schwinn, Cannondale, Fuji, Miyata, Univega, Panasonic, and GT. It has gotten rather out of control.

I forgot to chime in on this post and say how much I like the massive rear rack on the front. It makes the bike look like a battle rig!

You're being kind, A pinecone in my posterior would be kinder than making me ride 50 miles on a Serfas ARC Saddle
