Here's a dream job. I'm posting this for a friend, who runs a touring company in Puglia, Southern Italy.

DIRECTOR OF CYCLING OPERATIONS WITH SOUTHERN VISIONS TRAVEL!

Location: Polignano a Mare, Puglia
Duration: Permanent full-time
Start Date: Jan/ Feb 2020

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing all sales, pricing and correspondence for all biking products of Southern Visions e.g. guided, self- guided and bike rental bookings;
- Researching new markets to increase sales;
- Detailed bike briefings for our self-guided clients involving bike consignment, description of all routes, general overview of the Puglia area, demonstration of bike set up, making any adjustments necessary to fit the bike to the client and collection of signed paperwork;
- Management of our bike mechanic – assigning bikes for preparation and maintenance;
- Emergency phone response for all bike clients;
- Management of our Bike Rental Software;
- Managing the inventory of the bike fleet and accessories in conjunction with our mechanic;
- In the field bike assistance – provide support to self-guided clients who require immediate repairs and assistance;
- Handling bike consignments and collections including deliveries throughout the Puglia region;
- Bike route checks using GPS software;
- Stocking of supplies for guided cycling activities;

OCCASIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES – to be assigned depending on sales and logistic requirements;
- Leading bike tours;
- Van support role during guided cycling days e.g. preparing the support vehicle with spares and snacks, fitting the bikes on arrival, assisting clients throughout their biking and driving them where necessary;
- Airport arrival and departure transfers for clients;
- Luggage transfers across the Puglia region;

COMPANY REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent written and spoken English (fluent preferred)
- Great people skills;
- At least 2 years experience within the bike industry (pro or leisure-cycling hobby is not sufficient);
- Decent computer skills including competency with Excel and Office;
- Clean driving licence and ability to drive a 9-seater minivan (manual transmission);
