My favorite gizzards are pickled turkey gizzards, mmm good.
KFCs that have the buffet will often have a tray of deep fried chicken gizzards out for your enjoyment.

My only chicken liver experience has been at Sammy's Roumanian Steakhouse in Manhattan. Chopped chicken liver, radish, fried onion, fried chicken skin and generously drizzled with schmaltz (liquid chicken fat) from a syrup bottle. It sounds like concoction that I would hate, but I really liked it.

Stupid windy again here. I like to ride my mtb up the mountain on Wednesdays but NOAA says 50 mph gusts up there this morning. Gotta do something.
re: Pioneer Chicken, there were some around here in the 70s. You could get livers, hearts, and gizzards there. A bucket of gizzards, no kidding.

There are a few Chicken Express stores around us, but I've never been to one. About the only fried chicken I'll eat these days is Babe's (there's one in Roanoke not too far from Denton) and Chick-Fil-A. But those days are far and few between. I do have to say though that I love fried chicken and a good chicken fried steak. It's just not very good for me.
Their particular marinade is salt, MSG, and garlic powder.
Fried in beef fat.

I don't believe I have ever eaten pickled meat.

These days, we tell people who ask us if there's any food we don't like, "No insects or recognizable organs."

I grew up on chicken livers, sautéed with onions or chopped or served on various canapés and used to love me a chopped liver and corned beef or turkey sandwich on rye with coleslaw and nice garlic pickle. Deli chopped liver was mainly beef, I was told. Doubt I could get that stuff down today.

I posted something which someone told me would get my knuckles whacked by the nuns, so I deleted it after a reply or two.

Chains: waxed.
What next?
Now that we've been having the occasional bib weather, maybe it's time to finally shave the leg pelts and get rid of that icky wind-blown feeling.

Ceviche, I've had once. Meh.
Oh, pickled herring... Yeah, I've had that at my wife's family gatherings. Rather than say that I'd forgotten about that, it might be more accurate to say that I'd buried those memories deep, in the hopes of only recalling them so that I might decline in the event that it was offered to me again

Jerked meat? I don't think that qualified, does it? I guess I'd have to look it up, but... lazy and not that curious.

I'd had it several times and thought meh, and had avoided it for ten years or so before someone ordered conch ceviche for the table while we were on Key West. It was pretty much the best thing ever.
