This isn't a proper gravel grinder bike but it's the bike I ground gravel on this week. My gravel grinder is still under construction. This bike has 28mm tires, so I have to work a little harder to keep upright on gravel slopes and through mud puddles. But I did it, and I had a grand time.
It's a (rare) 1982 McLean with modern-ish components except for the original Campagnolo Record brake calipers. Only a few of them were made before the builder died suddenly at age 29. I had the frameset repainted in 1991 and had braze-ons added.

Gnarly setup! Do you know how wide those tires actually measure? Looking at the 29x2.1 version here but thinking the knobs will be too big at the front, and then I might go with the slicker Terreno Dry.

Hi autonomy
i measured the tires and they are exactly 2.1 wide. But they are 650b, not sure if you could squeze 29x2.1 tires in there.

Though I've used it *very* little for 'cross, ol' Jake has done just about everything else for me since bought new 20 years ago.
Still cleans up nice.

Here's my just-finished gravel conversion, based on a 12 year-old Schwinn Tourist (Target/Walmart-level hybrid bike). It's my new favoritest bike!

No gravel around me, but here's my just-finished gravel racer in a parking lot, converted from an old Schwinn Tourist hybrid:

Here's mine. Its a 2015 Kona Jake the Snake.

I impulse bought this frame new back in 2015 because I wanted to race cyclocross and I built it up with a bunch of random stuff I had laying around. Since then its gotten some newer brakes and a carbon seatpost. I love the geometry of this particular bike, though this will likely get replaced at some point with something carbonated with a bit more tire clearance and through axles. I've been saying that since I got it though, and I'm going on 5 years with this frame. It just works so well in so many situations.
