Gravel Ride Pics

It's been a really good steed. I know everyone likes to brag about their bike being awesome but I think Giant really did a good job on this. It is a superb gravel bike. Tons of room for fat tires (I run 42's no problem even with a front mech), fender attachments, lots of built in compliance in the carbon and it was a really good price.

Access to Provincial Parks is closed for the time being, however if you don't drive and park you are allowed to bike and walk on the trails. I rode to a popular park nearby and did not see a single person in the park, all the facilities are locked. As a working ranch, they are allowing the cattle to roam all over, some were checking out the interpretive stations which they cannot normally access.

Calgary Alberta. This is a south facing slope, lots of snow on north facing slopes and in the trees. The small streams in the valleys have several feet of ice. My yard is shaded by trees and has more than 2 feet of snow.

Local rut. Fortunately it was a steep hill, so I was not going very fast. On the other side of the rut was a large hole, about the size of a shallow grave. After the bike went in the rut, I rolled into the hole. Thankfully, no one was around to see it happen. The new saddle got scuffed.

I love old barns in rough shape.

I did a 45mi ride a few days ago a few the roads were being skimmed in the opposite direction for probably 20mi.
Luck was on my side this time!

Me?
av8n are you talking to me?
I like the giant revolt advanced 2 or 3 for a fun fast lighter gravel bike. My Salsa Journeyman is great but with rack and fenders it tips the scale around 30-31lbs. It is has byways so not the most aggressive tread. I like something similar to the venture for a tire on a gravel bike
