My used New World Tourist with Dual-Drive 3-speed hub and 7-speed cassette and BF H-bars.
I asked Bike Friday about the specs of the bike and found it was built for someone with similar body dimensions. It fits me well and has a great ride quality.
Currently my favorite folder since its quick fold does not require removing the front wheel like my Ti Swift.

Thanks! I think I'll go for it. While it does not fold like the BF rack, there is no real need for the rack to fold for packing, since it may be combined with a wheel and other stuff in the process.

A folding recumbent, great stuff. And a final drive linking the two chains - two of my bikes have this. Allows for long gearing, so you can have a small crank. Ideal for recumbents with outboard cranks, and for getting speed from a bike with a small drive wheel.
Doesn't the front chain sag about everywhere when it's folded though? Would be nice to see it in folded form.

There is a hook and catch on the frame to keep the top chain from going completely crazy but it does flop around and get me greasy. I need to move to waxing it instead but I haven't gotten around to it. I learned this past weekend that the bottom bracket is a friction fit eccentric (similar to a tandem) and I can tighten up the top chainline by adjusting it, which should prevent the chain slap on the front fork that's taken off the paint.
For a fold, here's what it looks like quick folded from when I bought it last October. It's not particularly small when folded like this but it will hold itself when leaned into a corner. Like all Bike Fridays it does pack down to fit into a suitcase but that involves removing the chains, pedals, wheels, and seat plus completely resetting the handlebars so it's something that takes an hour and you only do when putting it in its suitcase.

Call Bike Friday at their 800 number and ask them to walk you through your problem. They are very good at helping with their bikes. I am not sure from your description what exactly is wrong. Roger

With the Tikit, there are two models - a hyperfold model where you push the saddle / seat tube forward to release, and a non-hyperfold with a knob. Sounds like you have the hyperfold model.
Take a look at this video and see if the hyperfold cable tension being discussed applies to your situation:

It goes forward
I bought a Used season Tikit hyperfold.. so eager to fold ,I had to add a strap. toe strap , to keep it from starting the fold
when I did not want it to do that .. (like put in the repair stand, or carry up stairs)
to bring the seat up you need tools, (like regular bikes) . it stays the same height when folded , forward ,
Then pulled back when you want to go again .. they use a regular bike seat post .. you may change it if you wish..
unlike other folding bikes rhat telescope down and so have to be re adjusted every time you unfold it ..
If you want the QR height adjustment you can buy another band clamp for the frame with a Lever..

Bike Fridays can have a belt drive but they are special build with a different frame. The bike in the picture has a chain drive so it will not work with a belt. Most Bike Friday's are custom builds so if you buy a used one it was built for for someone else. Doesn't mean the would be wrong for you but something to be aware of. If you go to their web site they have good explanations on their custom building process. Roger

At one point I had three Bike Fridays in the garage, but I recently sold the Pocket Llama:

My favorite is my Crusoe, it’s one of the fastest feeing bikes I’ve ever had.

I bought this PL recently, thinking I could roll my Crusoe and Xootr Swift into one bike, but I like each of those better for their roles.

This is a bit small for me, but I don’t ride it much. Even so, it’s a lot more fun to ride than the Trek T900 tandem it replaced.

LET'S ROLL
by the chain stay where the belt can slide in/out.
I test rode a pakiT w/ belt drive and Alfine internal hub.
So smooth and quiet:
