what cycling shorts for thicker guys :)
I have tried on a couple different models of PI cycling shorts and did not care much for how they fit. I also was not nuts about how thick the pads where. In the old days I loved my PI's with the real chamois. I am 5'9" 195 and looking for a comfortable pair of shorts or bibs what are people having good luck with? thanks

5' 7" 195, so thicker than you. Boure and Voler are good choices, IMO. Aerotech Designs are another, especially the Pro USA model, though I personally have trouble with that one because the seam of the pad aggravated a saddle sore.
Lots of discussion here about shorts, and you'll see Voler and Aerotech mentioned positively a lot, so they're doing something wright.

I've been diggin the Black Bib PLUS model. Same size I'd order in PI, straps are tight (6'1) but once on they are fine. First ride in them was a hilly century an they proved their worth, Plus they are on holiday sale right now.

Ive used PI bibs for a while, the last stuff I purchased just suck. They eliminated the edging along the shoulder straps which means they are impossible to get to lay flat. Last PI shorts I buy. Will buy from AeroTech next time. And at OP, having thicker padding is OK, should mean more comfort.

tag sales made in China. Same like my pactimo kit for SDBC.
US based stuff will be triple the price due to labor rates. Look at https://www.elielcycling.com/ if you want GOOD us based stuff. They are in San Diego.

Aerotech has just had a 15% off sale, looks like it's over.
could not resist getting this jersey
I have never had their shorts (not cheap ), from what I have I like Pearl Izumi and Louis Garneau, picked them on sale for $20-30.
