Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm not sure of the relevance, unless you're talking about dealing with the likelihood of a given vehicle slowing/stopping to let people in/out. If that's the case, there's plenty of Uber and Lyft and some free agents. Regardless, you're still reading the vehicle behavior and the open space around them to predict what they'll do and you don't put it beyond any vehicle to do something stupid.

Good thing he is a nice guy.
There is a big mural of him on a building near here where he volunteers giving away meals.

Some of the Sonic Highways shows he did were great.

I've obviously ridden in NYC. It's really not that different from riding in the downtown areas of other metropolitan areas other than... it just keeps going and going and going. A bike messenger from Minneapolis wouldn't be out of sorts if dropped in to the NYC streets.
Exactly.

I'm glad that I didn't put away the cold weather gear, yet - I was able to slip out for a couple hours this morning, but it was cold and damp with the occasional drizzle.

Besides the weather, though, I was feeling pretty good. My load has been relatively light since returning to MN, but I'd like to think that my stretching and rolling has contributed a lot, too. I felt good in that 1-3min pocket today, and Intervals confirmed by bumping my eFTP to 275w, though I wasn't really trying to set a 3min mark... so I got that goin' fer me, which is nice.

I finally bit the bullet and bought a truing stand. I couldn't swing the $300 for a Park TS2.2, plus another $50 for the dishing stick, so I went for a Minoura FT-1 that came with a dishing stick, for < 2/3 of that. It arrived last night, but I didn't want to true in the dark. So this morning I went through the wheels on the last 3 bikes I built up - the Cannondale, the Circuit, and Mrs. Peel. In each case, I'd bought used wheels off Ebay, and then done only 'brake pad truing", so I figured the truing stand would be a lot more finicky.

Nope. All 6 wheels were true in the round and in the flat. Also properly dished. Now I HAVE TO build up some wheels to justify the expense of buying the stand!

Probably not. It was the thought that counts.
