I'm a hipster looking for a "fixed speed" bicycle. It must have only one speed. No brakes, they are for not cool people. I will be using it mostly as an excuse to wear an expensive bag and go to Starbucks. I also want to roll up my pant leg to show off my beat up Sambas and patterned socks.

If you have a "vintage" looking bicycle that I could convert to a fixie, that would be fine as well.

Must be cheap, my parent's give me little allowance.
I just chuckeled PBR all over my computer screen

Mine's older. It doesn't have 'slight cosmetic damage'. However, it was built for someone very small, which limits it's desirability to a certain extent. But, uh, yeah, it's nice to know the insurance value .

Wow, a training bike with a 78 tooth chainring, plastic pedals and a bent fork! Just what everyone needs. And what exactly is with that stem? It looks like some kind of flexible plumbing connector.

"Vintage hand-me-down. All of the decals washed off, but I'm pretty sure it is a 60's Schwinn Traveler. Newly packed 3-speed Bendix hub (red), new chain. Tires are good and held air all winter. Sale includes original chrome fenders and a black chain guard."

Wonder if that's the limited edition 3 speed kickback?

I had a friend that made a bike like this back in the late 80's. Front chainring is from a Schwinn exercise bike. He customized a 5 speed freewheel with additional spacers to a 4 speed to accomodate the wider chain required by the chainring, in hopes of being able to gear it low enough to get it going. But even with a 32T cog on the freewheel, the gearing was still too high to pedal anywhere, much less dropping it into the 14T he had on the high end.

This is HOT!!! $450 for a Murray fixie.

https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/bik/1124752427.html

i have a steel flatbar roadbike that is pretty cool, i painted it for a school project but need to sell it to fund another. (the design is puzzle pieces fading into the frame) i would love to keep it but it is a bit small for me, the frame measures out at just a hair under 54cm from center of bb to top of frame and the same from center of headtube to center of seat tube, i believe it is an old murray frame. there are a few scratches here and there but it is a solid bike overall. i have a freewheel on the back now 19t and i have a 18t that is a fixed cog. 36t sproket in the front, its a pretty easy gear but its nice for hills.email or call with any questions!

I'm also really tired of the egregious, excessive, and inaccurate use of "custom" in the description of bikes that should really say "altered" or even "ruined." Spray painting something purple or cutting it up does not make a bike "custom." Unless the frame builder built the frame to your measurements, it's not "custom."

I don't mean to state that the owner of this Volare ruined it (he didn't hack or paint anything), but DID reduce the value when he made it a "cross" bike.

This person lists alot of bikes on Chicago CL. Pretty good prices and sometimes unusual stuff. I get a chuckle out of the TALL mans bike. Anything larger than a 21 inch frame and they stress for a tall man. I imagine the seller is shorter than average?

There must be plenty of hipsters out there with more money than brains.

https://cgi.ebay.com/PEUGEOT-STEEL-FI...3%3A3|294%3A50

A bidding war for what looks like a gaspipe Peugeot frame, Closing in on $100 landed cost with 3 days to go. That would still be top dollar if it came with the seatpost, French BB & stem. The seller must be thrilled.

Does anybody else put stuff like this in their watched items just to see how high it gets?

I think I've seen this bike on Chicago Craigslist for 2 years now. Same person listing it. Its a good looking bike but $300 is way out of wack.

Shorty fenders isn't the only thing that makes this different from the others. No chain, no indicator chain, and mismatched tires separates this mutt from the other $150 bikes. OBO? $25?

Well, it's past 4.00 pm on the West Coast, and the bike's still there.

Seller needs a catchier ad, that's all.

Is that chainwheel supposed to look like the Iron Cross for some reason, or is that just a little bonus?

All it needs is a triple K on the back of the saddle and all the bases are covered.
