Within the last week, I've received some cotton bar tape and toe clips for the Dawes, and set of cheap Sunrace shifters just to replace the broken Simplexes on the Dawes. Today I'm expecting a pair of Dia-Comp single-pull calipers and Weimann levers with hoods, and vintage Brooks saddle for the Lenton Sports. And some dirty looks from the wife...

But it's going to be a fun weekend putting all this together!

Yay, 2 day delivery from Ebay: cheap Suntour Cyclone MkII GT for £20.
It's a bit beaten up but everything moves.
If I really like it I might have to get a pretty set to replace my Suntour VX GT RD and rusty FD.

An order from Framebuilder's Supply (the Nikko lugs are from Doug Fattic). Dropouts are still en route. It's a start...

Pacenti Artisan II bottom bracket shell:

Richard Sachs fork ends and dropouts:

Unfortunately, neither will work for frame #1 (standard sized tubing), so they will be hidden away to wait patiently for frame #2.

Don't have a rack for my Audi, so went looking for a chainkeeper for the Davidson to facilitate stowing it in the trunk. After searching 5 pages of over-engineered stuff on Ebay, I found this used Butter version (also a bit over-engineered, but solid as a bank vault and at a very nice price). It arrived two days after paying for it - from FL. I guess we're finally back to "normal" after CV19...

Love these little gizmos! Definitely prefer these non-QR versions.

I've used all three of these. The blue one can be used with the wheels still on the bike.
May have to try the non-QR version you showed here.

Made by Modolo, I think.
Yours are nicer looking in metal than the composite Modolo or Sachs versions.
Do they also mount the cable head about halfway down the lever after it makes a right turn at the top of the lever?
The added leverage imparts a really nice feel upon braking.

Yes and yes. On the Montello, they're pulling era 105 calipers. The same brake that a great many of us have experienced with the amount they were spec'd at the time. I felt a noticable difference in power and modulation withe the Mavic levers compared to what I expected from other levers.

I usually try to buy particular items from certain vendors as thanks for hipping me to them. But I wanted another spare tube for my rando bike, and as we all know, some models are in short supply. I found a few of these on Amazon and rolled the dice on one, hoping it wouldn't turn out to be a counterfeit. Seems legit!
