Never heard of this bike or the company before, but their product sure looks pretty and it's designed to fold into a rather tidy package. Available in chromoly steel or titanium. Anyone own one of these or encountered one anywhere? I'm curious...

Vellobike and Vellobike+ (Zehus electric assist version) have already been discussed on the forum !

I have seen them in the shop of several resellers in Brussels.

They fold more or less like the Tyrell Ive with a folding fork.

The bikes are only assembled in Vienna, the frame is made in Asia (it was made in Vietnam but there were quality issues, not sure its still the case). Its build quality is average, not at the level of the Tyrell and its folded sizes isn't very small, it cannot compete with a Brompton or Birdy.

I know one owner who wasn't very happy with its ride quality. His Vellobike was eventually destroyed by an accident with a car and he didn't replaced it with a new Vellobike.

The Vellobike+ suffer of the well known weakness of the Zehus system.

Interesting. It looks like a compact fold. I'm curious about the folding mech for the fork.

What's Zehus? Is that the pedal assist system on the electrified versions?

Looks like an amalgamation of folding bike ideas (NTTAWWT), although I don't believe I've seen a handlepost retracting into the headtube before.

I'm 'surprised' they can get a 135mm rear OLD, the frame and the fork into 290mm folded width.

Factory folded dimensions Birdy: :61cm(H) x 33cm(W) x 72cm(L)

Who trust what the brands say for the folded size (and for the bike weight) ?

Putting the folded bikes side by side is the only way to really know.

Although it s been discussed before, there’s been a lot of water under the bridge. The discussions are quite dated and focus on the e bike version. How about today? The standard version? The product is sold in Europe. Any reviews? Have they corrected their issues? If yes, it’s an interesting alternative.

The experience of the owner I mentioned is about one year old and with a Vello Rocky, not the Vellobike+ with electric assist.
