Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

The Single Speed comes out of hibernation !

I had the best winter cycling season in years. The trails were perfect, and I logged plenty of miles early this year. So, I didn't expect the legs to be too surprised going to a single speed rolling a 52/14. I went to a rail trial and rolled out and back 26 miles. The fun part is it does have a plenty of crossings and when you slow down or stop it takes some effort to get that gear spooled back up. Just a great day for a ride and let the road bike season officially begin.
