On today's ride, near a local Buddhist wat.
A Fuji Stratos with 105 group but with Dura-ace bar-end shifters.

Work in progress.

True Temper OX Ultra 2 tubes with a 80s Stumpjumper biplane fork. Mix of parts with a 1x9 Deore setup.

I still need to trim the cable housing and cable the rear derailleur.

26+ steel hardtail is the perfect bike for my tight, twisty, sandy singletrack. I've been wanting to set it up as single speed but I also take it to the mountains and I keep thinking about how much it will hurt with one gear haha. But I will do it because the conversion is so easy. The entire shifter/cable housing/derrailluer comes off all together. Chain swap is the only PIA.

I fell in love with this bike when it first came out but didn't want to pay $2400. The moment I saw it on sale for half price I ordered it. Not sure why 26+ never caught on. It's the same diameter as a regular 27.5. The Fox fork is actually a 27.5.

It's been great getting the old Giant (20yo) back into the rotation....even tho it means less SS riding time.
Just installed some new rubber.

Appreciation? No. Looking at that bike I actually got aroused a little.

I’m not sure if I ever posted pics of this one in here. It’s my Vigorelli Road. I got the frame about two years ago and then gathered all the parts and assembled it myself.

It has perfectly neutral handling on the flats—not too sharp or too mushy. Almost magic how well it corners. Good in climbing, except that it’s no featherweight. For fast descents, there are better (read: more stable) frames. Really a great all-rounder though. It rolls super smooth on the 25mm tubeless Schwalbes. I got the fit dialed in just right, and I can pedal it for hours without discomfort.

I like how the Campy Centaur group shifts, and I love the brakes. I can’t think of anything I’d change on this bike... it’s very well suited to me and my riding style.

Agreed, and the tan walls are perfect also, IMHO. I am really digging that look.

Rainy day in Sarasota today. Project Mayhem is almost finished.

Swapped out the bars/stem,brakes/levers,wheels and cassette and removed the ugly frame decals.

Test ride around the neighborhood was great, exactly how I wanted it to feel.

Added another Italian to the stable. Delivered in August '22 but finished in March '23. Had many of the parts but the frame needed some modification and wheels built.1971 Bianchi build - Bike Forums
