Travelers, a low rent Continuum.
Like special effects? Forget it, there aren't any worth mentioning. This is an ensemble cast portraying people stuck between two worlds. The emphasis is on characters, the plot and the scifi elements are just backdrop.
I'd like to see it get better writers, decent FX, and a plot arc that doesn't follow Continuum.
If you are a scifi junkie, and need a fix, this can take the edge of withdrawal. But...

Just started Stranger Things. My GF has been raving about House of Cards so I will give that a go soon as well.

Bloodline. I was disappointed that there was not going to be a season 3.

A Spanish Netflix series called, El Tiempo Entre Costuras, which takes place in the years leading up to and through the Spanish Civil War. I fell shamelessly and hopelessly in love, for all time, with Adriana Ugarte when I watched it.

I just was the first episode of Black Mirror, season 4.
It is titled "USS Callister", and part of the plot is the best parody ever, of the original "Star Trek" series.
Best line: "Stealing my ***** is a red ****ing line!"
There are also a couple Easter eggs in it, (one visual and one audio), both of which I missed.
For the visual one, watch the office scenes closely to see who is playing the other office workers.
For the audio, identify the unseen voice at the very end.

I've been binging The Good Place.
I like the plot twists, and Kristen Bell, and how everyone seems basically out of it.
But, to tell the truth, I am mentioning it for one reason, and I find it hard to believe it happened on a tv show. There is some philosophy talk. Mostly, it's basic stuff, like Utilitarianism. But there was a moment where a guy mentioned Rawl.
There isn't a lot of it.
The Good Place seems to be a version of heaven (I'm an atheist, just so you know).The Kristen Bell character winds up there by mistake, things don't go to plan.
I can't say it's a good show, and you need to wade through a couple episodes before the show finds it's footing. But it does borrow a lot from old British drawing room comedy. ( like the Importance of Being Earnest)

That's a pretty fair assessment, but I think both Continuum and Travelers are targeted to a PG-13 type of audience, so they have to tone down the reality a bit.

I'm an atheist also, but the whole God vs. Satan thing is classic good vs. evil story telling.

In the documentaries category we have Abstract: The Art of Design and also The Toys That Made Us.
I found both of them very interesting. The artists and engineers that design toys remind me of some of the mechanical engineers I work with.

Netflix just got Strictly Ballroom, dvd and stream. Not a series, and it's a silly movie, but I'll be watching it again.

Grace and Frankie season 4 arrives in a couple weeks. Never did finish season 3. But the show certainly had it's moments.
A documentary titled AlphaGo about an AI program playing Go doesn't sound promising. Rottem Tomatoes gave it 100%. Think I'll watch it later today.
