MVDP is going to soft pedal in for the finish and try to recover for M-SR. Spring is almost here.

It's a long season. I've been pacing myself in VeloGames. And striving really hard to get all my user error stuff out of the way, like not saving the P-N roster change.

Congratulations to ROB / MTBrider for his win in the BF VG T-A race. Y'all know what I mean, right?

I guess we can all be thankful that one4smoke missed the start after the hurting he put on all of us in Paris Nice. He raced to the sun and was at the after party while it was still raining on me with my limpet wheel sucker ooga-booga there, and now again in that same spot for a second race. Perhaps he's hoping I can close the gap to GrainBrain but it's just a little too far for me. Meanwhile, other bodies have been flying around our little middleish-of-the-pack trio from one race to the next, with ROB making his attack stick this time for the top step but Dirk falling apart like Rasmussen or Talansky. Or poor Richie Porte. Nope, that's not it, Dirk finished.

Let's see what that wacky German race brings and then we'll have a showdown on the descent from the Poggio.

So today's DaniNoKo race (that's the insider term) now gets an honorable mention at steephill.tv and is being broadcast on GCN+. Wow. I'm already getting so much more than my $25 worth out of that subscription.

Will we see a flashback to the Cav of old?

I don't think we'll see him grab a handful of GT stages again but I really do hope he's as good once as he ever was, at least once this season. He's had a rough time since he crashed in front of his mom.

Well that was ugly at DaniNoKo. GrainBrain for the win by a bike throw over Dirk. MTB Rider did his best "Toby Keith leaving in an ambulance" impression while one4smoke and I parodied his buddies getting beat up on the pool table. ooga-booga in the middle, left us and Nokere in his rear view mirror like he was Bill Belichick, rode straight back to the team hotel, and is on to Milan - San Remo.

I don't do these fantasy league things, but there is reason to wonder. He totally emptied the tank on Sunday., so 5 days to recover. Will that slow him down?

thinking someone else who’s been a little quiet lately. fantasywise, you’ll only be able to pick 2 of the three faves: wva, mvdp or alaphilippe.

*edit..my pick apparently isn't riding msr. oh well.

in a straight up finish at msr-no. if it’s a crashfest or he goes from farther out with someone else, maybe. i'd love to see he and gilbert give it a go.

I put in Gilbert, then went with riders other then The Big Threeģ

As for our recent Belgium run, I did not so much "win" but edged off the front with a lucky random continental pick. Had the right team but wrong rider. A cool result for a domestique though, but I hope his leader doesn't have to big of an ego!

More of the same, from somebody with some good perspective

https://www.velonews.com/news/road/f...primoz-roglic/

Possibly van der Poel and van Aert are burning their matches at races that don't matter
https://www.velonews.com/news/road/f...primoz-roglic/

Also of note, some insight into maybe why the peloton went full gas when Roglic crashed, rather than letting him get back on.

Says not the Lion of Flanders: Look, Mathieu. Everything the light touches is yours.

I wonder if the Cannibal agrees there's too much winning.

Haven't heard much from the Badger lately. He could go either way.

He's human. Can he really power through the CX season, hammer hard in the early spring races, and maintain form for the coming months? If so, he's made of different stuff than most.

And remember, the Cannibal was taking amphetamines.

I'm reminded of Gilbert's comment on these young guns, same as Minn Man, about keeping up with so much. That's why I went with Gilbert on the long shot along with Higuita, Cort, Simon Pellaud, Schachmann, and soren craig andersen. Hoping they will score high enough collectively to offset me not having 1st - 3rd place finishers. Also it's looking like good weather conditions for the puncheurs.

My highly questionable Velogames strategy has been implemented. Nothing to do but wait and laugh after the results are in.

I am still struggling to catch up with past race action. My configuration isn't as conducive now as last year's was to working while streaming in the background. I've got another Roglic disaster to catch up to before I even get to the T-A slugfest. I, too, can't understand how these young guns can handle this pace. I can't, and I'm only watching. Maybe I should get some of that Eddie water, eh, MinnMan ?
