Project 2016 Émonda S 6
Found a Trek Emonda Frameset on Craig's List that had been hit by a car in a garage. It needed a new fork and some TLC.
Many, many hours wet sanding, did I say MANY? Wet sanding the frame and fork then between all the layers of paint. 400, 600, 800 and 2000 grit sand paper.
2 coats of primer, 3 coats of base, 3 coats of color and 2+ coats of 2K clear. Paint used was Kustom Canz the color was Chromacoat Green (Shifts from Green - Blue - Purple - Gold).
I sourced a Motobecane Super Strada off of Craig's List as a donor bike.
I cut the decals myself and they were applied before color and removed before clear. There are no actual decals on the bike, what you see is the black base coat.
Frame - $100
Fork - $120 ish
Paint - $120 but didn't use it all
Sand Paper - $50 ish but didn't use it all
Donor Bike - $450
PDW Sparrow Bottle cages - $60
Brone's - $200 including a new Bottom Bracket.
Total - $1100 + my labor
Was it worth it? Oh HELL YES!
I still have Bars, stem, seatpost, saddle and Motobecane frameset to sell. Maybe get back $300....Maybe
A big THANK YOU! to Brone's Bike Shop for putting it all together.

One of the number of videos that inspired me. --->

Just a couple of pictures. Comment and check back. This is not a quick project I only work on it once a week or so.

Color and first cote of clear. Next some fine sanding with 2000 grit and another clear.
