Can someone explain very simply what trim is and do i need to adjust it. My Yamaha avr has these settings but I am confused what they do..

Is there an adjustment? I have only seen it "enabled" or "disabled." Trim in a computer usually is a setting for an SSD (solid state drive) which allows the drive to constantly tune itself much in the way that HDDs used to require defragmentation.
But for an AVR... Apparently Trim is used to adjust the volume delivered from other audio sources so that your overall volume is maintained in a comfortable range...
