Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? i would just go a size smaller than you'd normally ride...

why is this so difficult? are you even too small for the smallest size frame?

I'm 6'1 and I ride a 58 725TR w/ a 50mm stem and risers. I have a 90mm stem to run w/ drops and a 65mm stem to run w/ pursuit bars

Give us a lugged steel frame for fixed gear use that is not full of hideous decalls. Mix the tubing for price performance. Keep the rear triangle of lighter higher end tubing and use basic 4130 tubing for the three main tubes.

Do not use a 1 1/8 headtube or fork. Its just dead weight. Make it steel, keep it real and give Soma/IRO a run for the money.

Over sized tubing should not be wasted on the fork but in the bottom bracket to eliminate flex or fatigue.

And for the love of god keep the stupid Leader decals to yourself. How about a leader headbadge or simply stamp Leader into the fork/rear drop outs. Why should anybody ride your products and advertise for you and not get paid.

There is a reason some of us are smart enough to buy any old frame and make a conversion. Its often economical and not hideously crass.

Maybe if you knew something about their product lineup before you trash talked it you would have seen this: https://www.leaderbikestore.com/pd-ld...rack-frame.cfm

Do your homework first, then, when you have the facts, trash talk.

Seriously? Know what you're talking about...This is a beautiful hand built frame at a competitive price point for what it is.

Do not use a 1 1/8 headtube or fork. Its just dead weight. Make it steel, keep it real and give Soma/IRO a run for the money.

Dead weight? Uh...Larger Head tube=Larger diameter seat and top tube=stiffness...again, read a book before you start to try to educate others.

Over sized tubing should not be wasted on the fork but in the bottom bracket to eliminate flex or fatigue.

What? How do you have an oversized bottom bracket. You can brace it, you can have LARGER TUBES connected to it to enhance rigidity...the bottom bracket is going to be 68mm...

And for the love of god keep the stupid Leader decals to yourself. How about a leader headbadge or simply stamp Leader into the fork/rear drop outs. Why should anybody ride your products and advertise for you and not get paid.
Why wouldn't they advertise on their frames? Every other manufacturer does it, that's how it is. You want a blank solid colored bike? Shell out for a custom paint job

There is a reason some of us are smart enough to buy any old frame and make a conversion. Its often economical and not hideously crass.
Old road conversions are for people who want to look cool and ride a road bike w/ a fixed rear wheel whilst paying no attention to things like geometry or technological advancements...not to mention they're generally pieces of **** that people later trade in for a NEW bike that's invariably better on all counts

Wow so much ****** in this post...where to start.

I'm going to just supplement your post w/ red ink...think of it like all of the times you failed tests in grade school.

Yes, too small for the smallest frame.

5'6, i need a TT range of 521-525mm, ST 490-510mm. I'm most concerned with the TT. I want to run bull horns.

My good friend brought up some points that are very good for the BMX style fixed gear.

-higher head tube w/ longer fork for more clearance for barspins
-clearance for 32c tires all around
-also when they do the angles for HT DT they should take into considderation that 400-430 a-c forks are being used mostly with 650 wheels
-around $300

ALSO, head tube gussets!

ALSO, no integrated seat post clamp! Those tend to slip alot, and many people like to upgrade to a stronger one

Models

here is both the BMX and the track frame versions. Both will be made of high quality double butted 4130 Taiwan chromoly Steel.

BMX style 700c frame

1. Gussets on the BMX frame will be made of stainless steel.
2. dropouts are steel CNC like dirt jump frames
3. 31.8mm oversize top tube
4. 34.9mm oversize down tube
5. oversize box style chain stay

Steel Track 700c frame

1. oversize teardrop top tube
2. oversize tear drop hexagon style down tube

we will offer powder coat options. all frames will have no decals but we will include a free decal set with your frame.

Opinions are welcome but please understand this is a rough rendering. Once the design is approved we will post the final outcome.

Brian

track ends are the same model we use on our high end HMT frame. it comes with chain tensioners built in.

the track frame can't be a higher quality metal? 631 would be cool and 725 would be even more awesome.

-big oversized tubes for combating dents from cabs and phantom doors
-steep headtube for snappy steering
-lax seat tube angle for wheelies! (also just more comfortable position)
-tucked up rear wheel
-triple triangle for style points!
-longer top tube, designed to be used w/ 50mm stem (bmx stem/bars for example) gives barspin clearance...effective cockpit will be same length as a normal sized frame

I think this bike would be a blast to ride, it would look incredible, and be extremely effective for daily use in the city for commuting/courier use
what happened to this? lol the track with this look would look sick. if you keep the effective top tube like a normal track/single speed. perfecto no need for the super short stem with bmx bars. teardrop tubing, something better then 4130, none of that wheelie stuff. and the tucked in rear wheel just like the ocean:

sick. lol if all goes well. damn leader would be so sick.

Problem is the new tear drop tube sets we are making can only come from 4130. On the upside we are using a high end version of the material and It is lighter and better than some of the Higher priced brand name materials. I will look into that awesome seat tube. If there is time I am sure we will be happy to use it. Even on the new BMX style model. Please keep those opinions coming. There is time.
