I've easily got over 40,000 miles on my 2003 LeMond. But it reminds me of the joke about the old woodsman who brags about having owned the same axe for twenty years: "Yep," he said, "and I've only replaced the head twice and the handle three times."

My old LeMond is a bit better than that: the frame, fork, and a couple other bits are original at this point, while the wheels, drivetrain components, saddle, etc, have all been replaced 1x, 2x, or more.

I presently have 46,000 miles on my speedo, spread across three bikes. A Raleigh Hybrid, a
Trek FX and my 2014 Trek Domane. I'd say without digging out the calendars, My Domane is between 28,000 to 30,000 miles of the total.

Just over 10,070 miles on my old school steel road bike that I got in 2017. No idea how many miles were on that 1989 bike before I got it. I doubt it had many miles -- all the wear was cosmetic due to storage, but little apparent wear to the drivetrain and consumables.

8,400 miles on my favorite hybrid, since 2016. Ditto, no idea how many miles on that 1993 bike before I got it, but it didn't look heavily ridden.

2,700 miles on the older carbon fiber bike I got in 2019. That was also an early 1990s Trek OCLV, and ridden quite a bit before I got it, but nearly the entire drivetrain was replaced. It's currently disassembled for complete overhaul after the original headset went bad. It hasn't been ridden since early January 2020, so that 2,700 miles was all between May 2019-Jan 2020. Great bike, I need to get it up and runni... riding... again.

Yes, like that, my 1998 Fuji Touring (bought in '99) has some 60,000 miles on it. 12,000 were before the chainstay broke (frame replaced under lifetime warranty!). The fork and brakes are still original! Bars replaced when a little old lady turned into her driveway -- and me. Most exciting was when the OEM seatpost failed, and the saddle rotated back, and down, and... I made the Call of Shame.

The real mystery is with the older bikes that we had before we had any kind of ways to track mileage. Sure, there were the old clicker things that tripped a lever with each turn of the wheel but every one we had in our family, eventually got lost or eventually taken off the bike for whatever reason.

I rode my old Sears bike for about fifteen years, until eventually the large chainring wore out to the point it would skip beneath the chain during hard pedaling. No idea of the mileage unfortunately.

I put over 10,000 miles on my Cannondale touring bike in under 2 years. About 10,000 of those miles were fully loaded miles logged during three extended trips, including one of nearly four months. Longest day during that trip was about 135 miles. But who is counting?

I'm mostly retired, and it's freakin' great. I'm older than ever, and riding more than ever. Drinking more beer than ever, too.

Starting at age 34 I took a couple of years off from the working world. During that time, I rode across the U.S., among other things. Spent a night in Isle, MN, BTW.

Hope you don't have beer in your bidon. Can't imagine it takes good from plastic container.

I have put wine in water bottles before, but not in a long time and never while riding. IIRC, I did it to avoid suspicion in state and local campgrounds where alcohol is not permitted, which includes all PA and NJ state parks, which is stupid because people drink anyway. At this one NJ state park I take long weekend tours to the recycling bins have plenty of empty beer and wine containers in them.
