Figured while everyone was digging for their cameras and looking though flickr accounts and computer hard drives for Shimano parts, I might as well throw up the Campagnolo list (and SunTour probably later today). So here it is. Thank you in advance!

VeloBase.com - Shimano Most Wanted Photos thread.

One of the major efforts this year on VeloBase.com has been improving both the quality of data as well as photos in the collection. Also I have decided that all photos should (and are now required) to be tagged with their source - ie: who took the photo / has copyright to the photo. Of course this change came after I had already added several thousand photos to the website and the job has now become slowly replacing out these old (often also lower resolution) photos with new photos which I know the source of.

The BikeForums C&V community was such a huge help in updating and expanding the photo collection of Head Badges last month, than I though I'd engage your help again in taking a chunk out of the remaining 1600 or so photos left that do not have a source. I have compiled a list of all of the Campagnolo parts which I do not have a photo with source accredited to it. If you own this part and have or would be willing to take a few photos of it to either post here in the thread so I can upload into VeloBase, or if you have an account on VeloBase I encourage you to upload them as your time allows.

Note: Mounted on bike photos are fine. Off the bike is preferred, but beggers can't be choosers as they say!

I have a few of the Campagnolo items, but I don't have them imaged.

I missed the Shimano call, I have just a little of their stuff, a NOS set of EX freehubs and cassette hiding in an original box somewhere.

repechage - the Shimano thread is bouncing around the C&V forum as well. I'm trying not to bump the threads needlessly (in bad taste for an admin I suppose), but I'll probably try to keep them on the first 3 pages or so for the next week or so if possible.

This one is a bit embarrassing still being on the list. But yes, I am in need of some good photos of a Nuovo Record crankset, just like the one I have on my Gazelle Champion Mondial A-Frame back in the Bike Cave. LeicaLad, if you have a good set NIB that are still pretty and clean, that would be fantastic.

Thank you! I'll probably have some time this evening to do some uploading. I have the weekend's worth of expired eBay auctions to sort through as well. At last check I have over 250 items being watched from authorized eBay sellers (btw, watch list limit is 200, thank you eBay for creating 'other lists'), so plenty of new items and photos coming as the auctions end.

Cranksets Campagnolo 1049/A Strada Super Record - no flute arm etched logo

I believe I have a set of these arms. Right now with no chainrings on them. i have some used 42/52 , half polished monstrosities that might work but I will have to look through my other chainrings. Or I can just do the arms..


i would love to see a picture of the Campy hubs that used to come in the SKYWAY Tuff II graphites wheels for 20" BMX. Probably late 70's, maybe early 80's.

norskagent - that's for the photo. All I had was the Catalog img of those. That image should work fine, with the Crop Image tool on VeloBase I can do a pretty good job of zooming in on just the part in any image that is fairly good size.

I have been told, since my Campy FD has four holes, it must be a '78. Does that sound like the "Front Derailleurs Campagnolo Record (1978)" you need?
