Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

94A. Feels like 104A. 12 km to go. I'll likely cut through the woods for this last stretch. A nice option to have.

That's close to what I pay for the 1/4 acre lot at the office that has about 500 sq. ft. of grass. You got a deal.

For the record, it takes me 18 minutes to mow my yard and 18 minutes to trim and blow the grass off of the concrete. 36 minutes total and I still hate to do it.

It's normal for climbers to prefer the climb, I've generally preferred the climbs, even though I am slow. Long downhills can get tiring in a different way and I'm not aerodynamic.
Riding bikes has always been about climbing for me and I really miss the 8 hour rides through the mountains with friends.

I have talked about this before, I don't mid mild descents that have good pavement and good sight lines. But many of our roads here in Chester County have turns with poor sight lines, possible gravel and choppy pavement, and taking those at speed makes me a scaredy-cat. Once I am familiar with a certain downhill, I am usually more confident about taking it faster, but if it's one I don't know and/or can't see around the bend, you can count on me riding my brakes and taking it slow.

So now I know I can ride 35 miles in hot conditions without a second thought. Today I consumed two peanut butter sandwiches , three liters of water and a half liter of powerade, or some such. And a pasta dinner and a large breakfast. It went a lot better. I had tailwind and shade to kick it off and tailwind and sun to finish

I mow my yard an hour at a time almost continuously, throughout the rainy season.

I noticed an abnormal amount earlier this week. Thinking it’s because it’s been relatively dry and hot recently. Both days last weekend were in the 90s. Hit 90 today. Forecast for tomorrow is 95.
