Addiction 2021.1

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Those would be nice for the Haanjo, but the price is a bit steep. $300 for a left crank arm model would be good enough for me on that bike, but even if I really wanted full power, there are PM cranksets at half the price of the pedals.

Yah, $1,200 is a bit much. I do wish the revolt had come with a GRX crank instead of Praxis - getting a crankarm PM would be a lot easier.

Does your Praxis have the separate spider? I thought that P2M was making a drop-in spider for some of their cranksets.

I was considering a power meter, but I know I have so little power there is no point to measuring it. Sad.

All the more reason, IMO. I mean, anyone that buys a power meter because they're content with their output is just doing it wrong.

Yeah, I recalled correctly, but it's only compatible for some cranksets. $490 for complete power isn't too shabby - https://power2max.cc/products/ngeco-...71602d1b&_ss=r

I'm 99.999% certain it's not an M30 DM crank but the M24.

Is that just a Shimano-spec 24mm spindle? If so, you wouldn't be able to keep the crankset, but it'd only be another 100 bucks for a complete Rotor/P2M crankset, minus the rings.

I talked to P2M about their upgrade program and they confirmed that I was eligible even though I am not the original purchaser of my power meter.

Someday I should probably sit down and figure out what NGeco compatible cranks are also compatible with a BSA bottom bracket threading so that I can keep an eye out for an inexpensive used set. With having to buy crank arms separately I bet it would come out to around $450-$500 - like you said, not too shabby.

Although for that money I can buy a whole lot of coin cell batteries, and I'm not totally annoyed with changing them out yet

Yah, P2M throws in the chainrings for free too

I never caught that deal when I was actually in the market, I wish I would have. I'm okay with scrounging for old Shimano rings, I guess... though those Praxis aero rings might make me .002mph faster look pretty on the Cervelo.

More like 3-ish hours. And that's because although I don't have power, I don't have many Kg either, so the W/Kg is not awful.

Over the last couple of days, I've spent four or five hours cleaning the car ahead of the road trip (kids are messy disgusting, man). Now I have to run some errands, but it's raining and I don't want to take the car out of the garage.

Truth. When our kids are young they never wanted to ride in my car since I would not allow food or drinks.

And, I hate taking a freshly cleaned car out in messy weather.

At this point, I'm seriously considering taking a 1.2 mile round trip walk, in the light rain, to pick up just the essentials at the fancy grocery store ($$$), rather than drive to the fill-up-the-pantry grocery store ($).

That's what I would do.

My car is connected to a phone app. When we had the big freeze and all the crappy winter weather, I wasn't driving it and it just sat parked in the garage for some time since it was clean and I didn't want it to get dirty. One day I received a text message from the app telling me that I needed to drive the car.

Why? Charge up the battery? Or is it a PHEV with gas that was threatening to go bad? Lonely and just needed some attention?
