Mine was hit between the grill and the right head by a drunk at a bar. Had it fix. It's a 71 400hp 350 with one of the first NOS kits they came out with.

I’m generally not a car person (My Subaru that I bought home in July of 2016 has about 18,500 miles on it), but I do like the look of a lot of old muscle cars.

Bikes: This list got too long: several ‘bents, an urban utility e-bike, and a dahon D7 that my daughter has absconded with.

I lived in Jeddah for a while (hated it, but I am not going to sit here and speak ill of your home in a public forum). I have to agree, there were a lot of places where the word "slums" seems to fit best. I definitely noticed the lack of jobs for young men. It seemed the only jobs for young men were the various police forces and the military.

. . . thinking about it, I do remember some retail clerks. That said, it seemed that many of the jobs, normally taken by young men, were being done by incredible numbers of foreign workers.

I rode the folding bike that I had brought with me. However, most of the streets were not well suited to cycling, definitely less so than in the US and UK. I rode anyways, mostly to deal with the boredom. I should have gotten into video gaming or something like that. As it was, I was just going out of my mind with boredom and I gave up and left early so, I am now persona non-grata in KSA.

As far as financial decisions and bike prices. I get the same with my commuter bike, which is a priority current (the wind in this town is just unreal). I generally don't answer the "how much was it?" question. However, as a teacher, I do tell them how to look up the price on their own. Most of the students, when they see the price, are stunned.

It really just comes down to what a person values. As I often say, my house is a dump, but when I was thinking about making a down payment on a nicer, and newer, house I realized that I could buy an old house for the price of the down payment alone. So I bought what I could write a check for. I clearly valued the feeling of having a paid-for house more than I value a newer house.

As far as cars, yes, I am no longer car free, I have an old Toyota FJ for real extreme weather and when I need to carry something. I have no real plans of getting rid of it until I can afford an electric car. Besides, most of my motoring miles are on my Moto Guzzi motorcycle anyways.
