Don't think having aluminum exempts you from handlebar breakage. It can happen from extreme sweat corrosion.

Since they will replace them, it sounds like a problem with the layup schedule rather than riders over tightening the clamps.

Yes for sure. I have a friend who had that happen. He puts in a lot of winter indoor miles in his "pain cave".

I thought it was normal to replace carbon road bars every couple of years. Not the best "application for the material" and all that. I have two perfectly functional, yet very old, carbon fiber forks that I replaced just taking up space in my closet.
