Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Had to tell my realtor I'm thinking of backing out yesterday. There is just no where to go. I refuse to pay 25% more than asking to secure a sale that's just ludicrous. I'll stay where I am. She called me to tell me the buyer was freeking out. I don't appreciate all the pressure they were trying to apply . I was very clear about my expectations, and needs for a home. Felt like used car tactics. Give up the contingency it'll signal your serious...yeah seriously mentally incapacitated.
As far as the, we'll that's the market. The market can munch on it.

Happy Star Wars day!

I am not at all into Star Wars, but when it came out (Summer 1977) I was 12 and it blew me and my generation’s minds.

It was stupefying, astounding, ground-breaking and all of the other accolades given it at the time, hard to imagine, now, when entire movies are CGI.

We saw Star Wars with another couple that summer. My wife was near-term pregnant with our son, I remember and we all piled in to a 1975 Ford Pinto.

My retired racers group are starting rides this morning for the first time since Fall of 2019 but my wife and i are going to miss it. We have a Home Health visit from our insurance company. Considering that we both see doctors and specialists monthly, it seems unnecessary for us but I suppose there are other old people who need these kind of visits.

It was entertaining and groundbreaking for sure, but I haven’t kept up with the sequels AT ALL. I was never big on sci-fi.

That's correct. Like I said before, we are in a very old neighborhood.

The living room is going to get warm but thankfully the bedroom is quite shaded. I've been spending a lot of time plugging up all the holes I can find in the windows. If it comes down to it I'll try to get the landlord to install a higher capacity unit for that room in particular.

Also both of our schedules right now have us out of the house during the warmest parts of the day.

Got up at 0530 for a group ride this morning, but the street was wet and I had a painful leg from piriformis syndrome, brought on by yesterday's ride. Stretched and got an early start on work instead.

Oh good, we're talking about ailments again.

So the outside of my foot, in front of the ankle, hurts again. I think it's RA related--it pops up mysteriously, I didn't injure it. I even had it X-rayed a couple years ago. But there's not a joint there, so ?

Same on the time and wet roads, same on early work. Going to try and sneak out this afternoon.

I have no notable ailments, but I can kvetch about my wife's "security" measures.

I set up her new phone the other day, doing multiple rounds of updates and making sure that all of her info and apps got transferred over, and I'm setting up her old phone for our son, right now. There have been a number of reboots and security confirmations in this process, and my wife insists on crazy passwords and PINs that are more than a dozen digits long. On top of that, she has to be reminded of her credentials for a specific account, so it's a whole bunch of hand-her-the-phone-to-log-back-in,-wait-for-her-to-figure-out-her-PIN/password, etc, etc. Like, several times in the span of an hour, at times. Maddening.
