I don't know the different kinds of peaches, but it's really hard to beat a good peach. Sweet pineapple is the only fruit I'm thinking of at the moment.

If you look at the harvest schedule that LAJ posted, you'll see that the earliest harvest of freestone peaches is July 25-August 8. Freestone peaches are what we processed, and they are, of course, the best peaches.

Here's a link with a schedule for Georgia. Looks like right now it should be the cusp of clingstone and semi-freestone harvesting.

I wonder how much the seasons have moved because of climate change? A friend back in orchard country mentioned that the trees are blossoming earlier.
