Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ahhhh, the Wahoo saga continues....
Had time yesterday to give them a call about my Element again. Spoke with a very nice young lady named Fran, (I think, haven't had my coffee yet) she sent me a couple of links to muddle through. And I did. Then I called back and spoke with Andy about my shortened battery life on the same unit, told him about the other open ticket. And he offered my a crash replacement discount on a new roam or bolt. I said yes. Roam on the way!
So I will be hacking the Element with an ebay battery once the parts and free time arrive. Lol.
I'm so happy that thing is off my list of things to fix!

All that said, as well as the NBA and NFL translate to TV viewing, they are mind-blowing in person. TV just doesn't quite do justice to the size and athleticism of these guys; it's just absurd.
I've had the chance to be on the NFL sidelines as well as courtside at Dallas Mavs game, and the size, speed, and athletism of those guys is simply incredible. TV doesn't do it justice, nor does sitting even 10 rows up. When you are close enough to touch them, it's crazy. You do have to watch out so as not to get run over.

Unrelated to your problems, but my Garmin 1030 wouldn't recognize the gizmo that sends DI2 data to my 1030. Then, 20 miles later, the 1030 lost my PM signal followed by my HR strap and my Varia tail light. About 2 miles later, it stopped recording, saved my ride to that point and even uploaded to Strava. I restarted the ride and only got distance and speed for the next 11 miles or so.

I've never had a Garmin that didn't do weird stuff and I've owned a lot of them.

On their first reply, which took two business days, they completely ignored that question, answering only a question about the general timeframe for delivery of the pre-orders. I emailed back to clarify and their second reply was basically, "this is what we have available" and with a link back to the product listing/pre-order page that says to email to confirm.

I think that I'm just about done with any thoughts of ordering that grinder, at least from that outfit.
Few things send me into a fury like people who clearly didn't read the email.

I noticed the sidewalls starting to crack on my turbos the other day so I thought I'd switch it up and get GP5000s to see what the fuss is about and my LBS couldn't get them in stock. So I just got another Turbo.

Then I went home and in about 5 seconds on the internet I found GP5000s in stock. I don't know how the LBS are supposed to compete when the suppliers keep doing end runs around them like that. My local LBS just added a hipster cafe that has kind of completely killed the vibe of the place but I guess they gotta do what they gotta do to survive.

I like Wahoo computers and Garmin peripherals. My Wahoo Bolt Just. Works. But I've sweated through three Wahoo HRMs in an unreasonably short amount of time. I use the Garmin HRM, cadence and wheel sensors, and the Varia radar. They all play nicely with the Wahoo.

I've also had excellent customer service from Wahoo over the years. I accidentally sent my Bolt through the washing machine once. It still worked but the elevation data was all jacked up. They were kind enough to give me the 40% crash replacement discount even though it was 100% my fault. I've called them for various other things and questions; they might take a day or two to respond to an email but they're always helpful.

Tires wear out slower if you don't use them.
