Wow, is that a rain measuring devise on the handlebars too? Well, it is Portland I guess.

Yeah bob, riding to work today it rained a 1/4"

Somehow this reminds me of those bloody Mary's they sell in Wisconsin, with the pretzel, the nachos, the meat, etc.

For the discerning Lake Oswegoian, it needs an e-wheel.
I think that's a thermometer, needs a rain gauge and cell phone holder.
Where's the camera/radar detection system?
Love the chainring bash guard.
Chrome pie plate, balances nicely with rear disc brake.

For $159, possibly worth it for the vintage accessories. .

I greater Portland.
Bike on.

Nicely equipped!

That was a shop's dream -- the margin is in the add-ons, not the bike!

No LBS inolvement there, that's Montgomery Ward all the way.

Actually, that's not that unusual for an "old" (I'm 66, I can say that ) persons bike from the period except the white rubber mud flaps and hub shiners are missing.

I have never seen so much awesome on one bike! Sure, it could use some streamers, hub shiners, and a second water bottle holder, but maybe the original owner didn't want to go overboard on this build

Btw, anyone notice the trouser clip stored neatly around the seatstay attachment portion of the rear rack? At least, I think it's a trouser clip:

I think the reason a second mirror was not included is that, just looking at the symmetry of the handlebar array, any additional weight added to the drive side would result in a tendency to continuously veer right, towards the curb. Safety first!

I scored a cell phone holder just recently, from a bike-left-on-the-curb-with-no-wheels. It's spring-clip mounted, and looks like new, so how could I say no? 😋😉

At first glance, because it looked white, it appeared to be a toe strap. Upon closer inspection, I made out the telltale outward curves at the ends. Your post tells me the white is the reflective tape - not surprising, considering the plethora of reflectors/reflecting tape visible from stem to stern. Heck, he has one rear-facing red light plus two more red reflectors out back!

I almost want to pick this up on my way back from WA to AZ just for the fun of it

If you do, be careful mounting your toaster. Proper grounding might be an issue. 😁😉

And being that particular part of LO, it's not surprising to find something like that there. If it was anybody on the actual (man-made) lake (among other neighborhoods in town), that bike would be high-end vintage steel or carbon.

Honestly, with the 38cm bars on my International, just using a TA bar cage and an Avocet speedo eats up enough space to make it a bit awkward to put my hands on the top of the bars!
I've also been known to use the Sky-Mounti bubble level device that measures the grade of the road... so I've got my own inner Capt. Dashboard that starts to come out now and then.
