Upgrade from Sram Apex 1x11
Hi Guys. I really appreciate your help in this matter.
I have a Diverge Sport Carbon 2022, with a Sram Apex 1 1x11. Crankset 40 with a casette 11-42, which is the max to this transmission.
Im Ok with the overall races and touring, but, in November I have a really hard bikepacking race (AcrossAndes in Chile) and I need to upgrade the cassete to a 50 or 52. The problem: Apex 1 Max tooth is 42, and is not possibly to upgrade to a 2x11 'cause the derailleur can not handle 2x properly.
So here is the thing: I don't know what to do. My first idea was to buy a new casette, but is far more tooth than this transmission model can handle.
So, probably the next option is to upgrade to a 2x11: Do you think it's possibly? Buy a new derailleur (i don't know which one), one new left shifter control and...?
Let me know what do you think and what is possibly to do.
Thanks a lot!

Ratio 1x12 upgrade kits are another option. All you would need in addition to the kit is a 11-50t cassette like the PG-1230 or PG-1210 without freehub changes to your presumably 10 or 11 speed hub, or a 10-52t cassette if your hub already has the XD driver body.

or, if you swap your free hub body for a xd or xdr, you can fit a 9-46 E13 cassette ~510% (with a 12speed chain for added clearance); I have run that for 1 year with a 36T XC eagle chainring which can be swapped for a 32T to get a XC MTB drivetrain.
