Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I don't think so. I know the house was built in early 1970's and has always been zoned as single-family home. But anything is possible. I can ask the contractor working on the deck if he knows.

I'd drive away slowly if some barefoot guy were chasing my truck down the street.

Exit 4 of the NJ Turnpike. Have never ridden on the Jersey Turnpike because it's illegal (and stupid) to do so, but I have ridden legally on I-80, I-84. I-90 and I-94 in various places in WY, MT, ND, SD and OR.
I think that's spelled Joizey.

I've been on I-5, I-205, I-80, I-17, and I-25.

Couple Rans Bents in Austin available

https://austin.craigslist.org/bik/d/...599170222.html

I know nothing about them, where my bent riders at?

Sandals, American flag attached to the back.. what else am I missing for the transition? or to 'complete the look'

Well kept secret: I have one of those. It's a sky-blue Rans I bought back in roughly 1987, just because. I have not ridden it for many years but am keeping it for if/when my back goes.

It's a slippery slope towards total couch potato, my friend. With that in mind, you might want to check the Recumbent forum. However, I heard you are not allowed to post there unless you have a beer gut and a beard.

That's much more than a couple hours for VV.

My fantasy is not about driving with the interstate traffic but rather on the wide roads with gentle climbs and no traffic lights.

The first one is quite an old Rans bike. The seat mounting rail changed in the early to mid 2000s. I see the front dérailleur has been removed on the first one. Should be a nice ride though.* I'd go for the second one.* It's newer.* I personally don't like the tyre on the front of both of them:* I find Primo Comets ok in the dry but horrible in the wet.
To complete the look you also will need a beard and preferably an aero (beer) belly. And possibly a bag hung on the back of the seat or a rear rack.

Some cycling crap pick-ups today.

The wide Bonts finally arrived at the shop and, somehow, they're tighter than the regulars width Bonts that I'd tried on two weeks ago. As new shoes aren't completely necessary right now, and with (failed) shoe shopping fatigue setting in, I decided to use my deposit on one of those Silca rolls with the Boa fastener. Then I picked up some new glasses with two sets of lenses - one for day, one for night. Now I just need more time to ride.

Pro tip: if you go into the lunchroom and see a can of diet coke that looks like it may have been frozen and the top is bulging, do NOT open it.

How do I know? Suffice it to say there was a diet coke explosion in my lunchroom at work and I got it all over myself and the kitchen wall/ceiling/counter.

An effing mess.

I was only able to get Sidis to work in wide and even then they're probably a half size too big in order to get the width to work.

Recently tried to get some nice dress shoes in 11.5 E.. needed them in EE, chances of the mfg making an EE are snowballs in hell. I'm stuck with UGG made wide Chukkas. Which aren't bad.. but they just don't last.. I'd rather pay the $ up front and have something for years.
