If you or your loved ones were contaminated by a LeJuene- you may be entitled to compensation.

More like you should be thankful for the exposure. A quick glance at the Lejeune (note, no capital "J" The Lejeune brothers did not capitalize the "J" in their name.) shows what is likely a top of the line 531 Bernard Carré frame and it has the optional (extra cost) chrome on the lugs, socks, and crown. Probably chrome seat stay caps. The extra chrome is not common. It holds its own compared to the others. It will be a great rider for someone.

My size too. Top tube looks terrible, but I have some of the missing bits that I can take from the rougher (and smaller) Gitane Professional TdF I have here.

The LeJeune and the Super Course both look close to my size, but the wife is coming home tomorrow so I better not buy another bike.

I have a co-op friend who is moving to Portland in two weeks (like everybody else in Phoenix). If you shoot me the address I'll give him the info for the shop. He's a pretty energetic volunteer.

Rob didn't post this in the For Sale forum, he was just talking about frames at a third party location. One of the mods moved it over here.

the site is still wonky.
but differently wonky
that Lejeune looks much bigger that a 56cm
back then they measured center to top
even center to center it just looks big
my guess 59 cm center to top.

will log back in possibly in a month or so
be seeing you

Did you just call me "Scammy??"

I don't make a dime off of these. Usually I'm in the biz of giving stuff away.

I donate my time at this co-op, teaching others who to work on their bikes while building bikes to sell to pay the rent, and allow us to donate bikes to those in need.

I also keep a look out for parts I've heard people on this list need. But, this isn't a mail order bike shop. Its goal is to teach others, provide stand and tools and parts as needed.

We were shut down during covid. Luckily the garage next door became available to store donations that kept flowing in.

The vintage bike frames just sit there. Most collectors want a complete bike. Last time someone built a vintage to sell, we heard it all:
"why is there a Tange headset on this Italian bike?
"why is there a Specialized seat on this?"
"These are the wrong pedal caps for campy. They are from a sugino!!"

No idea what you mean by scammy. I'm trying to make room for new frames. They asked me to cut them up to take to the metal recycler, instead I posted that these were cheap and if anybody wanted to further the conversation, they should message me.

Heck, I'm even going out of my way to meet-up with a fellow C&V fellow to make sure the DAWES frame and fork is worth the $75 the shop is asking.

I will ask for you to apologize kind sir.

I will happily apologize. I am not saying that you are scamming people, trying to scam people or anything of the sort. I also am glad that you are doing what you can to save cool old bikes and share them here.

There are clearly established rules here for posting "for sale" items and that is what I was referring to when I used "scammy" as a descriptor. I have been on this forum since 2006 and have bought/sold/traded literally hundreds of times with no negative consequence and I want to keep it that way.

When items of interest are posted without clear pricing, it leads to misunderstandings, which lead to disputes, which leads to the mods shutting this portion of the forum down. Simply don't want to see that happen. That is all. Have a great weekend and keep the cool bike stuff coming.

It was moved here as it is obviously a sales thread.

I would say it is more of a "Are you looking for one of these?" thread, but I am not in charge and not trying to start a controversy.

Apology wholeheartedly accepted.

and I do understand where you’re coming from. I do not post this in the for sale section, I posted it in the general section because I feel weird since I’m not the one actually selling them. It doesn’t really fit in with the Craigslist/Ebay section. Somewhere in between.

like I said, I’m not in the mail order business. And already I’ve had people asking me how much does a two Cindy frame to North Carolina or Boston. I don’t know. I would have to do research and that is the last thing I want to do. I’d rather work on bikes.

I ask people to message me with her number so I can pass on the information to David, a co-op worker who has more patience than I do when it comes to shipping.

If you don't want to be misunderstood, then it's a good idea to start out by stating what's what in the beginning, forthrightly, without being so coy or cute about it. Your first and second posts were, to be frank, cryptic, and highly susceptible to the interpretations that others besides me reached as a result.

Maybe if you just followed protocols, as written, without trying to be too clever about it, people like me would take you at face value. While your altruism is appreciated, it doesn't give you the right to F-around by playing fast and loose with the rules.
Every item needs a price, firm. The bar is not set too high. This 'I work at a co-op so I have access to cool stuff so message me.' doesn't give you a pass.
If you want to give something away, even with conditions, it goes in the Pay it Forward thread.
Perhaps you should apologize for not getting it.
